Caller: Hey, my brakes are squealing pretty bad. Can you guys look at it this week?
AI assistant: Sorry to hear that. Can I get your name and the year, make, and model?
Caller: Dave. It’s a 2017 Silverado.
AI assistant: Thanks, Dave. I’ve got Thursday at 9 a.m. open. Want it?

How a call goes
Here’s what your callers will hear.
A quick heads‑up, a few smart questions, and a text to you. Here’s a typical call, start to finish.
Example call — HVAC
AI assistant:
Thanks for calling [Your Shop]. This is the shop’s AI assistant, and this call is recorded. What’s going on?
Caller:
Hi, this is Linda, over by Arundell in Ventura. Our AC quit and it’s 98 degrees in the house. Can somebody come out today?
AI assistant:
That’s rough in this heat, Linda. I’m marking this urgent and texting the owner right now so they can call you back.
Marked URGENT Text sent to the owner
Every call starts with a quick heads‑up: the caller hears they’re talking to an AI assistant and that the call is recorded.
The plain-English version
What can AI actually do for your shop?
Think of it as a sharp front-desk person who never clocks out. It doesn’t fix cars or run wire. It just makes sure no caller hangs up and dials the next shop.
Picks up every call you miss, day or night
9:47 p.m. on a Tuesday, a check‑engine light comes on. You can’t get to the phone, so your customer gets a friendly voice instead of your voicemail.
Knows your hours, services, and price ranges
“Do you do AC tune-ups? About what does that run?” It answers with the range you gave it.
Takes the caller’s name, number, and what they need
“Water heater’s leaking in the garage.” It gets the name, callback number, address, and how bad it is.
Books them into your calendar
If you’ve got an opening Thursday at 10, the caller hangs up with a time — not a “we’ll call you back.”
Texts you every lead within seconds
You’re under a sink. Your phone buzzes with the name, number, the job, and the time they booked. Read it when you come up.
Flags emergencies so you call back fast
Burst pipe. No heat with a baby at home. Brakes gone soft. It marks those URGENT so you see them first.
Speaks English or Spanish
A caller starts in Spanish? It switches to Spanish and keeps going.
Callers always know: right at the start of every call, it says it’s an AI assistant and that the call is recorded.
What it won’t do
Quote final prices.
It shares the ranges you approve. The real number comes from you.
Make promises you didn’t approve.
No discounts, no “we’ll be there in 20 minutes,” unless you said so.
Wing it.
Anything unusual — an odd request, an upset caller, a question it can’t answer — it takes a message and texts you right away.
Myth vs. reality
Four fair worries about AI on your phone.
Skeptical is smart. Here’s the straight answer to each one.
Myth: “It’ll sound like a robot.”
Reality: Today’s AI voices are a long way from the old “press 1” phone trees. It talks in normal sentences, asks follow‑up questions, and waits while someone digs up their address.
Myth: “It’ll scare off my regulars.”
Reality: It only steps in when you can’t pick up. When you’re free, your regulars still get you. When you’re not, they get a friendly answer instead of your voicemail. It tells them up front it’s an AI assistant and the call is recorded, takes the message, and texts it to you.
Myth: “I’ll have to learn new software.”
Reality: You won’t. We build it, set up the call forwarding, and test it with you. Your routine doesn’t change: answer the phone when you can, read the texts when you can’t.
Myth: “It’s only for big companies.”
Reality: It’s built for the opposite: one‑truck outfits and two‑bay shops where the owner is also the receptionist. $497 to set up, then $149 a month. Month‑to‑month, cancel anytime.

The problem
You can’t answer the phone from under a car.
You’re good at the work. That’s exactly why the phone goes unanswered — your hands are busy doing it.
On a job
You’re in an attic, halfway through a brake job, or up to your elbows in a drain. The phone rings in your pocket. By the time your hands are free, the caller’s moved on.
After hours & weekends
Leaks, dead AC, and check‑engine lights don’t keep business hours. People call when they notice the problem — evenings, Saturdays, 8:30 on a Sunday night.
Voicemail
Think about the last time you got a shop’s voicemail. Did you leave a message — or just call the next shop? Your callers get the same choice.
In a 2025 CallRail survey of 1,000 U.S. consumers, only 42% said they leave a voicemail when a business doesn’t answer.

Night Owl picks up those calls — and texts you every one.
Every caller hears up front that it’s an AI assistant and the call is recorded.
How it works
Three steps. Then you get back to work.
Step 1: We build it around your shop.
A call with Nathan to learn your services, hours, price ranges, and how you want emergencies handled. We write your greeting and set it up with your answers.
Step 2: Your missed calls forward to it — you keep your number.
We switch on forwarding for the calls you miss. Your number stays the same, and your phone still rings first. When Night Owl answers, callers hear up front that it’s an AI assistant and the call is recorded.
Step 3: You get a text with every lead.
Name, number, what they need, and the time they booked — in a text, seconds after the call. Urgent ones are flagged so you see them first.
Setup takes under a week. No software to learn.

Do the math
What are missed calls costing you?
Move the sliders to match your shop. The starting numbers are just an example. Here’s the math, worked out with example numbers.
- Revenue walking out the door each month
- $1,950
Night Owl pays for itself if it saves just 1 job a month. The one-time $497 setup is covered by 2 jobs.
The math
- 5 calls a week × 52 weeks ÷ 12 months = 21.7 calls a month
- 21.7 calls × 30% = 6.5 jobs
- 6.5 jobs × $300 = $1,950 a month

Meet the founder
Hi, I’m Nathan.
FounderVentura County
I grew up on the harbor in Oxnard, and I’ve spent years in local sales. I was the #1 rep in my office and led its top team — the Night Owls. That’s where the name comes from.
I started Night Owl because I kept watching local owners lose real money every time a call went unanswered.
I set up every client personally, and you can always reach me.

FAQ
Straight answers.
Will it sound robotic?
Not like the old phone menus. It talks in normal sentences and asks follow-up questions. You can read an example call on this page.
Do I have to change my number?
No. You keep your number. Your phone still rings first, and only the calls you miss forward to Night Owl.
What if it can’t answer something?
It takes a message and texts it to you right away. It won’t guess, and it won’t make promises you didn’t approve.
Is there a contract?
No. Month-to-month, cancel anytime.
Does it tell callers it’s an AI and that the call is recorded?
Yes, at the start of every call. California law generally requires everyone’s consent before a call is recorded, so it says so up front. And callers deserve to know they’re talking to an AI.
Can it speak Spanish?
Yes. If a caller starts in Spanish, it switches to Spanish and keeps going.
What happens to my callers’ info?
Each caller’s name, number and what they need come to you in a text, and the call is recorded. We never sell your callers’ info. Our Privacy Policy (being finalized) explains how that information is handled.
How fast is setup?
Under a week. After a call with Nathan, we build your greeting and answers, switch on forwarding for your missed calls, and test it with you.
What if I want to cancel?
It’s month-to-month — just tell me and I’ll cancel it. Your number never changed, so your phone works just like it did before.
